NOVELTY - A graphene device (103) consists of an active layer (20), a graphene layer (30) contacting the active layer and an electrode (70) spaced apart from the graphene layer. The graphene layer and the active layer provide a pathway for current flow. The electrode (70) controls a work function of the graphene layer based on a voltage applied to the electrode (70).
