NOVELTY - An electrode binder comprises 20-70 %mass guar gum, 10-40 %mass polyacrylic acid and 10-70 %mass citric acid. USE - Electrode binder used in silicon composite electrode for lithium ion battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The electrode binder has small molecule plasticizing effect, and improves battery capacity attenuation caused by volume expansion of the silicon composite electrode. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) silicon composite electrode, which comprises the electrode binder, a silicon nanoparticles, and a conductive agent; and (2) preparation of the silicon composite electrode.
