NOVELTY - An electric power generation system (11) comprises fuel cell (4) comprising a negative electrode to which a hydrogen-containing gas is supplied, and a positive electrode to which an oxygen-containing gas is supplied, and generates electricity by a chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen, a splitter (5) comprising separation membrane which selectively permeates hydrogen, and obtains permeable gas and a non-permeable gas from a mixed gas, and a circulation path for feeding the exhaust gas on the negative electrode side of the fuel cell to the separator and supplying the permeated gas to the negative electrode. The separation membrane comprises porous support layer and a separation functional layer which is provided on the porous support layer. The separation functional layer contains at least one compound chosen from polyamide, graphene, metal organic framework and covalent organic framework. USE - System used for generating electric power for domestic applications and vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The electric power generation system is lightweight and smaller in size and has excellent electric power generation efficiency. The separation membrane has excellent selective permeability of gas. The exhaust gas on the negative electrode side can be reused efficiently.
