NOVELTY - Anode active material comprises a silicon-carbon composite, a first graphite, and a second graphite, where the first graphite has an average particle diameter D50 of 10 mu m or greater, and the second graphite has an average particle diameter D50 of 18 mu m or greater. USE - The material is used in anode for lithium secondary battery (all claimed) used in a laptop computer, a smart phone, or an electric vehicle. The battery is used in a hybrid car, such as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), and is used in the application requiring to store a large amount of power, and used in an electric bike, or an electrically driven tool. ADVANTAGE - The material provides superior lifespan characteristics without a sudden drop at early cycles when charging and discharging cycles are repeated, and provides high energy density to the battery. The material improves characteristics of the anode in view of tap density and expansion reduction, and enhances the discharge rate and cycle life retention capabilities and the efficiency of the lithium secondary battery. The material provides superior characteristics in view of tap density and expansion reduction while having a certain level of conductivity to the anode. The lithium secondary battery with the anode, exhibits superior characteristics in view of discharge rate and lifespan retention capabilities and efficiency.
