NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene oxide/polydopamine surface-modified steel wire net involves ultrasonically treating a stainless steel wire net with acetone, ethanol and deionized water for 30 minutes to remove oil stains and organic solvents on a surface of the steel wire net, cutting the wire net into squares with a side length of 6 cm, immersing in 200 ml 10 mmol/L tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane buffer having pH of 8.5, adding 400 mg dopamine hydrochloride, leaving at room temperature still for 48 hours, washing with deionized water for 3 times, vacuum drying at 40 degrees C for 12 hours to obtain a polydopamine surface-coated wire net, preparing fluffy graphene oxide using graphite, potassium persulfate, phosphorus pentoxide, and concentrated sulfuric acid, configuring 0.2 mol/L aqueous graphene oxide dispersion, immersing the polydopamine surface-coated wire net in the dispersion, reacting at 40 degrees C for 4 hours, washing with deionized water for 3 times, and vacuum drying at 40 degrees C for 12 hours. USE - Preparation of graphene oxide/polydopamine surface-modified steel wire net used for separating oil slick. ADVANTAGE - The method is simple, economical and easy to operate, and enables reaction which is non-toxic and harmless, and provides steel wire net which has excellent separation effect on the oil-water mixture, and can be recycled. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of graphene oxide/polydopamine surface-modified steel wire net involves ultrasonically treating a stainless steel wire net with acetone, ethanol and deionized water for 30 minutes to remove oil stains and organic solvents on a surface of the steel wire net, cutting the wire net into squares with a side length of 6 cm, immersing in 200 ml 10 mmol/L tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane buffer having pH of 8.5, adding 400 mg dopamine hydrochloride, leaving at room temperature still for 48 hours, washing with deionized water for 3 times, vacuum drying at 40 degrees C for 12 hours to obtain a polydopamine surface-coated wire net, adding 1 g graphite, 1 g potassium persulfate, 1 g phosphorus pentoxide, and 10 ml concentrated sulfuric acid in a three-necked flask, reacting at 80 degrees C for 5 hours, washing the product to neutral, drying under vacuum at 60 degrees C, adding 40 ml concentrated sulfuric acid and 4 g potassium permanganate, heating 0-35 degrees C for 2 hours, adding 50 ml deionized water, reacting at 98 degrees C for 15 minutes, adding 200 ml deionized water and 10 ml 30% hydrogen peroxide to obtain golden yellow solution, washing the product with dilute hydrochloric acid and deionized water until neutral, freeze-drying to obtain fluffy graphene oxide, configuring 0.2 mol/L aqueous graphene oxide dispersion, immersing the polydopamine surface-coated wire net in the dispersion, reacting at 40 degrees C for 4 hours, washing with deionized water for 3 times, and vacuum drying at 40 degrees C for 12 hours.
