NOVELTY - A hydrogen storage material comprises graphite formed of graphene. The orientation of crystal planes of the graphene is disordered. USE - For use in a hydrogen storage apparatus of a hydrogen storage system in a fuel cell vehicle (claimed). ADVANTAGE - Hydrogen can be stored into a large number of gaps between the layers of graphene. The assembly provides a fuel cell vehicle capable of storing a sufficient amount of hydrogen to attain a long-distance drive. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for producing a hydrogen storage material comprising subjecting an organic polymer material to heat treatment, wherein the heat treatment is stopped when the orientation of crystal planes of graphene constituting the hydrogen storage material is disordered.
