NOVELTY - Preparing lithium iron phosphate cathode material involves drying mixing and refining iron source, phosphorus source, lithium source, carbon source and additives to obtain a mixture, performing sintering of the mixed material, and then pulverizing to obtain pulverized materials. The pulverized material is sintered, where the gasifiable organic carbon source is passed for coating and cooled to obtain the lithium iron phosphate cathode material. The gasifiable organic carbon source is acetylene, methane, ethane, propane, methanol, ethanol, ethylene glycol, isopropanol, glycerol, acetone, butanone or 2-pentanone. USE - Method for preparing lithium iron phosphate cathode material used for preparing lithium-ion batteries (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method prepares the lithium iron phosphate cathode material in a simple, cost-effective and eco-friendly manner with better carbon coating layer and particle morphology, greatly improved performance and good cycle stability, and can meet the general requirements of high-performance lithium iron phosphate batteries.
