NOVELTY - Metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material (I) comprises metalloporphyrin and graphene. USE - Metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material used in the field of catalytic materials, optoelectronic materials and heavy metal ion treatment. ADVANTAGE - The metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material is prepared in simple and cost-effective manner under mild reaction conditions, and has wide range of applications. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material of formula (I) comprises metal porphyrin and graphene. (Three-dimensional structure is given in tiff file). R=CH3, CH2CH3, (CH2)2CH3, (CH2)3CH3, (CH2)4CH3, (CH2)5CH3, (CH2)3OH, CH2COOCH2CH3, CH2C6H5, CH2C6H4CH3 or CH2C6H4NO2; and M=zinc (2+), cadmium (2+), lead (2+) or mercury (2+). An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material, which involves: (A) drop-wise adding aqueous solution of cationic porphyrin to graphene oxide dispersion and monitoring UV-visible absorption spectrum to stabilize red-shift and to obtain porphyrin-graphene composite; (B) drop-wise adding porphyrin-graphene composite dispersion to aqueous solution of metal ions to obtain porphyrin-metal ions complexes at room temperature; and (C) monitoring UV-visible absorption spectrum to determine stable red shift and to obtain metalloporphyrin-graphene nano composite material.
