NOVELTY - A UV and/or visible-light photocatalytic composite material comprises titanium dioxide and composite material (m1) comprising graphene oxide and bismuth oxyhalide (I). USE - UV and/or visible-light photocatalytic composite material is used in composition and for decomposing airborne pollutant e.g. nitrogen oxide e.g. nitrous oxide or nitrogen dioxide emissions from stationary power plant and automobile engine, and volatile organic compounds from surface e.g. roadway, tunnel, wall, concrete, pavement, automobile, pollution control apparatus (all claimed), window screen and window. ADVANTAGE - The UV and/or visible-light photocatalytic composite material has long-term photocatalytic stability, and excellent photocatalytic efficiency and nitrogen oxide conversion efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A UV and/or visible-light photocatalytic composite material comprises titanium dioxide and composite material (m1) comprising graphene oxide and bismuth oxyhalide of formula: Bi-O-X, where X is chloro, bromo or iodo. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) composition, which comprises visible-light composite material and solvent to disperse the composite material; (2) use of visible-light photocatalytic composite material for decomposing nitrogen oxide and/or volatile organic compounds; and (3) decomposition of airborne pollutant.
