NOVELTY - The component (2) has two graphene films (8) interposed between superposed conductive or semiconductor electrodes (4) such that the superposed conductive or semiconductor electrodes are electronically and/or magnetically coupled through the thickness of each of the graphene films. Each conductive electrode is coupled with a face of the respective graphene film. An intermediate layer (6) is interposed between the coupled conductive electrodes, where the intermediate layer is an electrically insulating or semiconducting layer. USE - Electronic component. Uses include but are not limited to tunnel junction, magnetic tunnel junction, spin valve, memristor, junction-based semiconductor, abrupt interface conductor/semiconductor, abrupt interface conductor/insulator and organic LED. ADVANTAGE - The graphene films are interposed between superposed conductive or semiconductor electrodes such that the superposed conductive or semiconductor electrodes are electronically and/or magnetically coupled through the thickness of each of the graphene films, thus preventing the phenomena of diffusion of space between the superposed conductive or semiconductor electrodes, and hence improving the performance of the component.
