NOVELTY - The coupler has a semiconductor substrate layer (17) whose surface is formed with an insulation layer (16). A first waveguide (11) is connected with a second waveguide (15). A first graphene medium layer (12) is formed with a second graphite medium layer (13) and a third graphite medium layer (14). The second graphite medium layer is connected with a graphene layer unit in a parallel manner. The waveguides are made of silicon, germanium and germanium-silicon alloy materials. The semiconductor substrate layer is made of silicon oxide, silicon nitride oxide and hexagonal boron nitride materials. USE - Graphite alkene based electronic directional coupler. ADVANTAGE - The device has high broadband connecting speed and less volume, and reduces power consumption, realizes waveguide phase matching process and increases extinction ratio of a light intensity modulator and a light switch.
