NOVELTY - Preparing graphene oxide composite based on intumescent flame retardant comprises intercalating graphene oxide with a zinc-containing ionic liquid, and the zinc-containing ionic liquid is prepared by mixing p-hydroxyanisole, acrylamide and zinc chloride in a ratio of 0.05:1:1. USE - The composite is useful in copper ion and mercury ion adsorption, adsorbing and treating copper ions and mercury ions in industrial wastewater (claimed).
