▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Coating (10) comprises an epoxy phenolic resin (16), and graphene nanoplatelets (14). USE - The coating is used for protecting a component exposed to a corrosive environment, and for protecting an article (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The coating provides improved corrosion resistance, while reducing the number of coats needed and eliminating the need for applying a chromate containing wash primer, improves corrosion resistance, increases component life, reduces manufacturing costs, and is environmentally-friendly. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) an article for use in a corrosive environment comprising a metallic substrate, and the corrosion-resistant coating, arranged on a surface of the metallic substrate; and (2) a method of protecting an article exposed to a corrosive environment comprising applying a corrosion-resistant epoxy phenolic coating to a surface of the article exposed to a corrosive environment, where the coating comprises 0.1-2.0 wt.% graphene nanoplatelets containing 5-15 atomic% oxygen, and curing the corrosion-resistant epoxy phenolic coating.
