NOVELTY - Preparation of graphene-eosin Y composite aerogel photocatalyst involves: (1) dissolving graphene oxide in deionized water to obtain a graphene oxide dispersion; and (2) adding Elicarb (RTM: Electrical grade graphene powder) to the graphene oxide dispersion, then adding eosin Y, uniformly mixing, carrying out hydrothermal treatment, then cooling, washing and freeze-drying under vacuum to obtain the product. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene-eosin Y composite aerogel photocatalyst, which is useful for liquid-phase visible light photocatalytic reduction of p-nitroaniline and to remove contaminant chromium(VI) (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple preparation of graphene-eosin Y composite aerogel photocatalyst with high conductivity and excellent photocatalytic activity.
