NOVELTY - Hydrothermal preparation of three-dimensional sulfur/graphene/carbon nanotube complex, involves adding an acid to a dispersion of carbon nanotubes, graphene oxide, and a thiosulfate, heating, hydrothermally reacting, separating solid from liquid, washing, and drying. USE - Hydrothermal preparation of three-dimensional sulfur/graphene/carbon nanotube complex for use as cathode material in lithium-sulfur batteries. ADVANTAGE - The method enables simple, environmentally-friendly and economical preparation of three-dimensional sulfur/graphene/carbon nanotube complex having excellent cycle performance and rate characteristics, under mild reaction conditions, industrially on a large scale. The complex provides batteries having improved initial discharge capacity.
