NOVELTY - A reactor assembly comprises gas inlet (101) and one or more gas outlets (110), reactor chamber comprising nanoporous carbon material arranged in a cup and covered with a cap, porous frit (F1) defining a floor of the reactor chamber arranged in the cup, porous frit (F2) defining the ceiling of the reactor chamber and arranged below the cap, reactor head space arranged above the cap, 2, 3, 4, 5 or more reactor assembly coils surrounding the reactor chamber and/or reactor head space operably connected to reactor assembly frequency generators and power supplies, 2, 3, 4, 5 or more pairs of reactor assembly lamps (104,105) which are arranged circumferentially around reactor assembly coils and define a space between the pairs of lamps and coils, and computer processing unit for controlling the power supply and frequency generator. Each porous frit has a porosity which is sufficient to allow a gas to permeate into the reactor chamber and comprising nanoporous carbon material. USE - Reactor assembly.
