NOVELTY - A magnesium oxide particle coated with reduced-type graphene oxide comprises surface-modified magnesium oxide particle. USE - A magnesium oxide particle coated with reduced-type graphene oxide for resin composition (claimed). ADVANTAGE - By coating the magnesium oxide particle surface with the reduced type graphene oxide, the water resistance and acid resistance of magnesium oxide are improved. Thermal conductivity, environmental stability, and durability of the resin composition which blends the surface-modified magnesium oxide can be improved. Electrical conductivity of reduced graphene oxide itself is much lower than that of graphene, and a resin layer exists between the magnesium oxide particles coated with reduced graphene oxide, without impairing the electrical insulating property of the resin composition. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for manufacture of surface-modified magnesium oxide particle which involves mixing magnesium oxide powder with graphene oxide dispersion liquid to obtain dispersion liquid, collecting particles out of the dispersion liquid, drying to obtain dry particles, and reduction-processing the dry particles.
