NOVELTY - A graphene toughened boron carbide ceramic material comprises 74.5-80.5 wt.%, preferably 78.5 wt.% boron carbide, 15 wt.% silicon carbide, 3-9 wt.%, preferably 5 wt.% alumina/yttria and 1.5 wt.% graphene. USE - Graphene toughened boron carbide ceramic material. ADVANTAGE - The ceramic material is prepared at a fast heating rate, has high density (reaching up to 100%), high hardness (30.87 plus minus 0.19 GPa), toughness (5.76 plus minus 0.29 MPa.m1/2).
