▎ 摘  要

NOVELTY - Making an electronic device, involves: applying a first functional group to a graphene substrate (10) in a first predetermined pattern; and applying a second functional group in a second predetermined pattern to the graphene substrate patterned with the first functional group, where the second predetermined pattern is at least partially determined by the application of the first functional group. USE - For making an electronic device (claimed) such as lasers, light-emitting diodes, plasmon waveguides, optical waveguides, optical gratings, fluorescent devices, light-absorbing devices, photoelectron converters, phaseshifting devices, interferometers, optical couplers, or plasmon couplers. ADVANTAGE - Using the present method sufficiently well-controlled introduction of defects and chemical functionalization is possible, this eliminates the need to mask the region, defining the doped region by selective introduction of defects into the graphene lattice. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an electronic device comprising a graphene substrate (10) including two defined regions (12, 14, 16, 18) differing in at least one electronic property, where the first region is chemically functionalized with a first dopant species and the second defined region is chemically functionalized with a second dopant species, and where the first defined region has a border aligned with a crystal direction of the graphene substrate.
