NOVELTY - Producing functional graphene fiber comprises (a) preparing source solution in which a graphene oxide sheet is dispersed; (b) spinning the source solution into coagulation bath containing a functional material containing metal and coagulant to prepare graphene oxide fibers having surface provided with the functional material; and (c) heat-treating the graphene oxide fiber having surface provided with the functional material to prepare graphene fiber having surface provided with the functional particle-reduced functional material. The functional particles have metal particles or metal oxide particles depending on the heat treatment temperature of the graphene oxide fiber. USE - The method is useful in producing functional graphene fiber for gas sensor (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The functional graphene fiber improves adsorption efficiency, desorption efficiency, and sensing ability of target gas. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) functional graphene fiber comprising graphene fibers in which multiple reduced graphene oxide sheets are aggregated to extend in one direction, and a functional particle disposed on the graphene fiber and containing metal having first energy level difference from the reduced graphene oxide, and metal oxide having second energy level difference greater than the first energy level difference; and (2) gas sensor comprising a substrate, a catalyst layer disposed on the substrate and containing functional graphene fiber, and an electrode disposed on the catalyst layer.
