NOVELTY - Semiconductive polyolefin composition comprises 80-99.5 wt.% olefin polymer base resin, 0.1-10.0 wt.% first carbonaceous structures, 0.2-15.0 wt.% carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures, optionally additives, the semiconductive polyolefin composition has an electrical percolation threshold of 5 wt.% combined amount of components first carbonaceous structures and carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures dispersed in the olefin polymer base resin, the electrical percolation threshold being defined as the critical concentration in wt.% of the components first carbonaceous structures and carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures in the olefin polymer base resin, where an exponential increase in electrical conductivity is observed. USE - Semiconductive polyolefin composition used in power cable (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The semiconductive polyolefin composition improves conductivity and processability and increases mechanical characteristics. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Semiconductive polyolefin composition comprises 80-99.5 wt.% olefin polymer base resin, 0.1-10.0 wt.% first carbonaceous structures, 0.2-15.0 wt.% carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures, optionally additives, the semiconductive polyolefin composition has an electrical percolation threshold of 5 wt.% combined amount of components first carbonaceous structures and carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures dispersed in the olefin polymer base resin, the electrical percolation threshold being defined as the critical concentration in wt.% of the components first carbonaceous structures and carbon black and/or second carbonaceous structures in the olefin polymer base resin, where an exponential increase in electrical conductivity is observed, the polyolefin composition has a conductivity of 1* 10-7 S/cm determined according to broadband dielectric spectroscopy for a percolation threshold of 1.0 wt.% or lower and 2-point electrical measurements for a percolation threshold of 1.0 wt.%. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: 1. a power cable, which comprises a semiconductive layer which comprising semiconductive polyolefin composition; and 2. a method for making a power cable, which involves: forming a semiconductive layer around a conductor, where the semiconductive layer is formed from the semiconductive polyolefin composition.
