NOVELTY - Production of graphene oxide comprises adding sulfuric acid solution with pH of 2-5 into surfactant at mass to volume ratio of 1 g:55-65 ml, stirring to dissolve, adding carbon material, stirring uniformly, adding bivalent iron agent, stirring, dissolving, maintaining temperature at 75-85 degrees C, adding 5-40% hydrogen peroxide, stirring, and reacting for 2-4 hours to obtain reaction mixed solution; and filtering reaction mixed solution to obtain filter residue, water washing to neutral, adding pure water, ultrasonic wave stripping, and vacuum drying to obtain graphene oxide. USE - Method for producing graphene oxide (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method has simple and safe operation, and low production cost. It reduces use amount of oxidant by more than 90%, and reduces pollution to environment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Production of graphene oxide comprises adding sulfuric acid solution with pH of 2-5 into surfactant at mass to volume ratio of 1 g:55-65 ml, stirring to dissolve, adding carbon material, stirring uniformly, adding bivalent iron agent, stirring, dissolving, maintaining temperature at 75-85 degrees C, adding 5-40% hydrogen peroxide, stirring, and reacting for 2-4 hours to obtain reaction mixed solution; and filtering reaction mixed solution to obtain filter residue, water washing to neutral, adding pure water, ultrasonic wave stripping, and vacuum drying to obtain graphene oxide. The mass ratio of surfactant, carbon material, bivalent iron agent, and hydrogen peroxide is 1:2-3:1-3:4-6. The carbon-based material is crystalline flake graphite, intercalated graphite, expandable graphite, expanded graphite, graphene nanosheet, activated carbon, carbon black, carbon nanotube, or middle phase carbon microspheres.
