▎ 摘 要

NOVELTY - o-Terphenyl derivatives (I) are new. USE - o-Terphenyl derivatives used for preparing graphene nanoribbons for thin film semiconductor for use in electronic, optical or optoelectronic device, such as organic field effect transistor device, organic photovoltaic device or organic light-emitting diode (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The o-terphenyl derivatives improve efficiency of electronic devices. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - o-Terphenyl derivatives of formula (I) are new. R1-R4=H, CN, NO2 or saturated, unsaturated or aromatic 1-40C hydrocarbon residues optionally substituted 1- to 5-fold with F, Cl, OH, NH2, CN or NO2, where one or multiple -CH2-groups optionally replaced by -O-, -NH-, -S-, -C(=O)O-, -OC(=O)- or -C(=O)-; n=nothing; and X and Y'=F, Cl, Br, I or OTf (trifluoromethanesulfonate). An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing graphene nanoribbons, which involves: (A) polymerizing o-terphenyl derivatives of formula (I) to form a polymeric precursor having repeating units of formula (II); and (B) performing cyclodehydrogenation of polymeric precursor having repeating units of formula (II) to form graphene nanoribbons having repeating units of general (III).
