NOVELTY - Bismuth iodide/graphene oxide compound prepared by adding the graphite powder with graphite oxide using Hummers method, ultrasonically dispersing the graphite oxide solution, adding iodide with the obtained 0.1-1 mg/ml of graphene oxide dispersion liquid, and then adding bismuth (III) nitrate pentahydrate into mixed liquid, stirring mixed solution, heating the suspension, stirring heated suspension, ultrasonically treating turbid liquid, filtering turbid liquid, washing the brick-red precipitate, and drying the washed brick-red precipitate, is new. USE - The bismuth iodide/graphene oxide composite is useful as photo-catalytic material (claimed). DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Bismuth iodide/graphene oxide composite visible light catalytic material prepared by taking graphite powder as raw material, adding the graphite powder with graphite oxide using Hummers method to obtain graphite oxide solution, ultrasonically dispersing the graphite oxide solution using deionized water at an ultrasonic frequency of 40-250 Hz for 1-3 hours to obtain 0.1-1 mg/ml of graphene oxide dispersion liquid, adding iodide with the obtained 0.1-1 mg/ml of graphene oxide dispersion liquid at a speed of 200-900 revolutions per minute for 10-50 minutes to obtain mixed liquid, and then adding bismuth (III) nitrate pentahydrate into the mixed liquid, stirring the mixed solution at a speed of 200-900 revolutions per minute for 10-60 minutes to obtain suspension, heating the obtained suspension using a water bath at 60-90 degrees C, stirring the heated suspension at a speed of 200-900 revolutions per minute under the ultrasonic frequency of 40-250 Hz to obtain turbid liquid, ultrasonically treating the turbid liquid for 1-3 hours, filtering the turbid liquid to obtain brick-red precipitate, washing the obtained brick-red precipitate using the deionized for 2-6 times, and drying the washed brick-red precipitate at 40-80 degrees C for 12-36 hours, is claimed, where: the mass ratio of the graphite oxide to iodide is 50-200:1; and the mole ratio of iodide to the bismuth (III) nitrate pentahydrate is 0.9-1.1:1
