NOVELTY - Preparation of polyacrylonitrile-graphene oxide composite fiber comprises dispersing acrylonitrile, acrylic acid and itaconic acid in solvent, adding spheroidal graphene oxide powder to solvent, mixing to obtain graphene oxide dispersion, adding graphene oxide dispersion to mixed solution, mixing, dispersing, adding initiator to solvent to obtain initiator solution, adding mixed solution, mixing to obtain mixed solution having 20-30% solid content, transferring mixed solution to reaction vessel, reacting, introducing nitrogen, discharging viscous material, washing, filtering with deionized water, boiling, filtering, removing unreacted monomers and remaining solvent to obtain polyacrylonitrile (PAN) powder, drying, dissolving PAN powder in solvent, preparing polyacrylonitrile-graphene oxide fibers by wet spinning technique, washing wet-spun composite fiber with water, performing multi-stage water bath stretching, performing high pressure steam drawing and drying. USE - Method of preparing polyacrylonitrile-graphene oxide composite fiber. ADVANTAGE - The method improves mechanical property and conductivity of composite fiber. The fiber has excellent electrical and mechanical properties. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparation of polyacrylonitrile-graphene oxide composite fiber comprises dispersing 92-98 pts. wt. acrylonitrile, 1.24-7.49 pts. wt. acrylic acid and 0.51-0.76 pt. wt. itaconic acid in solvent, adding spheroidal graphene oxide powder to solvent, mixing at 50-100 revolutions per minute (rpm) for 2 hours to obtain graphene oxide dispersion, adding graphene oxide dispersion to mixed solution, mixing, dispersing at 50-100 rpm, adding initiator to solvent to obtain initiator solution, adding mixed solution, mixing at 300-400 rpm to obtain mixed solution having 20-30% solid content, transferring mixed solution to reaction vessel, reacting at 60 degrees C for 10-24 hours, introducing nitrogen as shielding gas, discharging viscous material, washing, filtering with deionized water, boiling at 100 degrees C, filtering, removing unreacted monomers and remaining solvent to obtain polyacrylonitrile (PAN) powder, drying, dissolving PAN powder in solvent, preparing polyacrylonitrile-graphene oxide fibers by wet spinning technique, washing wet-spun composite fiber with water, performing multi-stage water bath stretching, controlling first level at 60-70 degrees C, controlling second level at 70-80 degrees C, controlling third level at 80-90 degrees C, controlling fourth level at 90-100 degrees C, performing high pressure steam drawing and drying.
