NOVELTY - The method involves utilizing high-temperature molten salt containing alkali metal and/or alkaline earth metal cation as electrolyte to remove impurities by pre-electrolysis. The cathode and anode are set under the protection of inert gas. The cathode electrolytic silicon dioxide or mixture of silicon dioxide and carbon material is set under the protection of inert gas. The silicon dioxide in molten salt heat field and alkali metal in molten salt are crystallized to form silicon dioxide tube under the action of alkaline-earth metal cation to obtain electrolytic product silicon dioxide nanotube. USE - The method is useful for preparing silicon dioxide nanotube and silicon nanotube without additional inducing agent by molten salt electrochemical method. ADVANTAGE - The silicon nanotube is environmentally-friendly and economical; has high purity, good shape. The method has simple preparation and can realize large-scale production, provides efficient and convenient strategy for preparing lithium ion battery cathode material. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for silicon dioxide nanotube, prepared by the above method.
