NOVELTY - Preparing graphene-containing expandable polystyrene particles industrially involves dispersing graphene in the styrene prepolymer. 100 to 200wt.% deionized water is added to 500 L of the reaction vessel along with 0.01 to 0.1wt.% surfactants, 0.1 to 1% composite dispersant 100% styrene monomer 5 to 15% graphene 0.1 to 1% composite initiator followed by continuous stirring, and heating to 50-90 degrees C reaction for some time. The conversion rate of styrene is 30-60%. USE - Method for preparing graphene-containing expandable polystyrene particles industrially (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables to prepare graphene-containing expandable polystyrene particles industrially, which has successfully passed through a large test (5000 L reactor) and has good dispersion, simple process, easy operation, high success rate, is environmentally friendly and is suitable for large-scale industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene-containing expandable polystyrene particles industrially involves dispersing graphene in the styrene prepolymer. 100 to 200wt.% deionized water is added to 500 L of the reaction vessel along with 0.01 to 0.1wt.% surfactants, 0.1 to 1% composite dispersant 100% styrene monomer 5 to 15% graphene 0.1 to 1% composite initiator followed by continuous stirring, and heating to 50-90 degrees C reaction for some time. The conversion rate of styrene is 30-60%. The graphene-containing polystyrene particles are synthesized by adding 100-450% deionized water, 0.01-0.1wt.% surfactant, inorganic primary dispersant 0.1 to 1wt.% inorganic auxiliary dispersant to the high pressure reactor followed by mechanical stirring at 20 to 100 r / min, pre-dispersing for 10 to 20 minutes. 0.2-2% composite initiator is added to the reaction kettle followed by adding 0.05 to 0.2wt.% pore adjusting agent and 100wt.% styrene monomer, and stirring to dissolve. The temperature is raised to 40 to 70 degrees C, and the graphene-containing styrene prepolymer is added. The temperature is raised to 85 to 95 degrees C to initiate the polymerization of the monomer for 1 to 6 hours and as the suspension polymerization proceeds, the viscosity of the monomer becomes large and the graphene is fixed inside the monomer small liquid beads and then adding 0.1-5wt.% inorganic dispersant. The other feed port on the reactor is closed and adding from 7-10wt.% pentane from blowing agent mouth and heating for 1.0-1.5 hours at 125-130 degrees C and performing polymerization for 3 to 5 hours and cooling to 30-50 degrees C. The prepared particles are washed, dried, sieved and coated to obtain graphene-containing polystyrene particles.
