▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - Producing graphene or carbon fiber involves extracting a coal sample from a location. The spectral analysis is performed on the coal sample to detect a hydrogen to carbon ratio of the coal sample, a concentration of a contaminant in the coal sample, or a concentration of water in the coal sample. The spectral analysis is analyzed to evaluate whether the coal sample indicates a preference for producing graphene or carbon fiber. The amount of coal is extracted from the location. The amount of coal is beneficiated. The beneficiated amount of coal is processed to produce graphene if the spectral analysis indicates a preference for producing graphene or carbon fiber if the spectral analysis indicates a preference for producing carbon fiber. USE - Method for producing graphene or carbon fiber. ADVANTAGE - The method is effective ffor the processing of the productive elements in coal, such as carbon, and the production of existing and new intermediary and end-use materials from these elements. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method of producing an advanced carbon material, which involves: (a) extracting a coal sample from a location; (b) performing a spectral analysis on the coal sample to determine one or more of a hydrogen to carbon ratio of the coal sample, a concentration of a contaminant in the coal sample, and a concentration of water in the coal sample; (c) characterizing one or more processes based at least in portion on one or more of the hydrogen to carbon ratio of the coal sample, the concentration of a contaminant in the coal sample, and the concentration of water in the coal sample; (d) and performing the one or more processes on coal extracted from the location to produce the advanced carbon material.
