NOVELTY - A three-dimensional nanocomposite material comprises a gold-graphene quantum dot as core, a silver intermediate layer and platinum nanoparticles shell layer, combined to form three-dimensional structure. USE - Three-dimensional nanocomposite material used as catalyst for methanol oxidation (claimed) in direct methanol fuel cells. ADVANTAGE - The nanocomposite material has improved electrocatalytic activity increased by 5-10 times, reduced carbon monoxide poisoning, and improved stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of the nanocomposite material, which involves using chloroauric acid, silver nitrate, chloroplatinic acid, sodium citrate, graphene quantum dot and ascorbic acid as raw materials.
