NOVELTY - Saliva glucose measurement strip comprises a substrate (101) comprising a first substrate portion (101a), a second substrate portion (101b), and a third substrate portion (101c), and a first printed circuit (102). A first portion of the first printed circuit overlies the first substrate portion, a second portion of the first printed circuit overlies the second substrate portion, and a third portion of the first printed circuit overlies the third substrate portion. An insulator overlays the second portion of the first printed circuit. A second printed circuit overlays and electrically connects to the third portion of the first printed circuit. A filter overlays the second printed circuit. Two inserts overlay the second printed circuit and coplanar with the filter. A cover overlays the two inserts, a portion of the filter, and a portion of the insulator. USE - Saliva glucose measurement strip used in conjunction with a glucose measurement device to measure an electrochemical signal of a saliva sample. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a glucose measurement device, which comprises a housing, a processor, a display interconnected to the processor, an actuator interconnected to the processor and a saliva glucose measurement strip insertion port, where the insertion port is configured to interconnect the saliva glucose measurement strip to the processor; and (2) a method of determining a blood glucose concentration of a patient, which measuring an electrochemical signal of a saliva sample of a patient using the saliva glucose measurement strip and correlating the measured electrochemical signal to a blood glucose concentration to thereby determine the blood glucose concentration of the patient.
