NOVELTY - Producing (M1) a particle based, especially a fiber based electrode material involves (A') forming electronically active precursor material comprising dispersion, where the dispersion comprises (i) soluble lithium source and hydroxide source, preferably lithium hydroxide, (ii) at least partially organic substance that is water soluble, (iii) electronically active material, and (iv) graphene oxide; (B') separating the solid electronically active precursor material from the liquid phase; (C') drying the precursor material; and (D') pyrolizing the precursor material. USE - For producing a particle based, especially a fiber based electrode material; in an electrode; and for rechargeable battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method provides an electrode with low or reduced matrix content and a high matrix conductivity at large mechanical stability; and provides an electrode with enhanced cycle stability. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Producing (M1) a particle based, especially a fiber based electrode material involves (A') preparing an electronically active precursor material comprising dispersion, where the dispersion comprises (i) a soluble lithium source and a hydroxide source, preferably lithium hydroxide, (ii) an at least partially organic substance that is water soluble and that once mixed with electronically active material (EAM) can be pyrolized, (iii) EAM, and (iv) graphene oxide; (B') separating the solid electronically active precursor material from the liquid phase; (C') drying the electronically active precursor material; and (D') pyrolizing the electronically active precursor material to yield an active electrode material. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) an electrode (E1) obtainable or obtained by the method (M1); (2) rechargeable battery comprising a cathode and/or an anode consisting in the electrode (E1).
