NOVELTY - Preparing graphene-based sulfur composite cathode material comprises e.g. heating primary commercial expanded graphite I in a hydrogen-argon mixed gas, then treating with oleum, washing, filtering, and placing in an organic solvent I containing a expanding agent, allowing to stand, adding the surfactant, sonicating for 0.5-1 hour, centrifuging, adding organic solvent I and stirring, adding graphene suspension, ultrasonic dispersing, evaporating the solvent and calcining to obtain final product. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene-based sulfur composite cathode material (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method improves the electronic conductivity and electrical performance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene-based sulfur composite cathode material comprises (i) heating 30-370 mu m primary commercial expanded graphite I at 1000-1050 degrees C in a hydrogen-argon mixed gas with a volume concentration of 3% for 1 minute to obtain expanded graphite II, (ii) treating expanded graphite II with oleum at room temperature for 24 hours, washing with water and filtering to remove excess sulfuric acid to obtain expanded graphite III, (iii) placing the expanded graphite III in an organic solvent I containing a expanding agent for 5-10 minutes, allowing to stand at room temperature for 2-3 days to make the expansion agent fully into the expanded graphite III layer, and further enlarging the expanded graphite IV suspension, (iv) adding the surfactant into the expanded graphite IV suspension and sonicating for 0.5-1 hour to obtain uniform suspension, centrifuging to obtain supernatant graphene suspension, (v) adding elemental sulfur powder into an organic solvent I and stirring to obtain sulfur solution or suspension I, and (vi) adding the sulfur solution or suspension I into the graphene suspension by mixing, ultrasonic dispersing, evaporating the solvent and calcining to obtain final product. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for graphene-based sulfur composite cathode material obtained by above method.
