NOVELTY - Sulfonated graphene is prepared by taking graphite powder, adding in concentrated sulfuric acid, concentrated nitric acid and potassium permanganate mixture, reacting to prepare reaction liquid, adding hydrogen peroxide solution, mixing to obtain bright yellow liquid, filtering, obtaining graphene oxide, dispersing graphene oxide in water, adding benzenesulfonic acid diazonium salt, reacting, where diazo group and sp2 hybridized carbon atom are reacted, obtaining sulfonated graphene oxide solution, adding sodium borohydride, reacting and filtering to obtain the product. USE - Sulfonated graphene used to prepare sulfonated graphene-modified aqueous polyurethane resin (claimed) for use in making synthetic leather. ADVANTAGE - The sulfonated graphene-modified aqueous polyurethane resin provides synthetic leather having excellent mechanical intensity, good water resistance, acid and alkaline resistance and high-temperature resistance. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) sulfonated graphene-modified aqueous polyurethane resin prepared using sulfonated graphene; and (2) preparation of sulfonated graphene-modified aqueous polyurethane resin comprising at 20-40 degrees C, taking polyethylene glycol, reactive silicone oil, non-ionic chain extender and antioxidant, adding diisocyanate, reacting under vacuum at 40-50 degrees C for 1.5-2.0 hours, adding ionic chain extender, stirring for 20-30 minutes, adding catalyst, reacting at 70-80 degrees C for 2-3 hours, adding acetone, controlling viscosity at 5000-10000 cP/50 degrees C, adding triethylamine, ethylenediamine, sulfonated graphene and deionized water, stirring for 1-3 hours, emulsifying, vacuum removing acetone and obtaining the product.
