NOVELTY - The cable (500) has a protective layer arranged radially about a conductor (510) and comprising graphene oxide. An insulation layer (530) is arranged radially about the protective layer, and comprises a polymer. The conductor comprises copper. The insulation layer comprises oxygen groups that form hydrogen bonds with oxygen groups of the oxide. Few of the oxygen groups comprises hydrogen. The conductor comprises graphene fiber. The polymer comprises ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer. The insulation layer comprises a functionalized polymer that comprises maleic anhydride based functional groups. USE - Power cable for supplying power for a heater for generating steam for a pump such as reda hotline electric submersible pump (ESP) system, for pumping water and fuel for use in a high- temperature and/or high-pressure oil and gas industry well environment. Can also be used for use in a chemically harsh environment, and a hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide environment. ADVANTAGE - The cable is light in weight, small in size, and easy to handle and install, and can resist damaging forces, and ensures better mechanical, electrical or chemical effect so as to realize normal operation of a motor, circuitry, and sensors. The cable is coated with graphene oxide based coating material so as to reduce the overall size of an insulated conductor for ensuring better material saving effect and reducing mass of the insulated conductor, so that support specifications for supporting a downhole tool are reduced.
