NOVELTY - Membrane-protected three-dimensional porous cathode material, is claimed. The cathode material is a three-dimensional porous zinc metal substrate coated with an organic/nonpolar protective film. The preparation method comprises (i) adding etching agent, organic/inorganic cladding material, and binder into the solvent, stirring and mixing at room temperature to form slurry with a certain viscosity, and (ii) uniformly coating slurry on the zinc foil, and vacuum drying. USE - The film-protected three-dimensional porous zinc cathode material is useful for zinc-based battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode material has wide application prospect in zinc ion battery, zinc-air battery and liquid flow battery, and can obviously improve the cycle life of the zinc-based battery. The method is simple, and economical, and the controllability is high, is easy to convert into industrial production technology, the zinc metal etching agent in the coating is convenient and safe, and the cost of the method is low, which is good for practical application, the coating layer can inhibit hydrogen evolution and other side reaction, and can control the transmission path of zinc ion, and promote the fast transmission of zinc ions.
