NOVELTY - A low-expansion porous cordierite comprises fluidity imparting material, powder raw material, pore-former and additive. The addition amount of the fluidity imparting material is 1-100 wt.% of the total weight of fluidity imparting material and the powder raw material. The fluidity imparting material is at least one of gas-phase silicon oxide, gas-phase aluminum oxide and compressible talc. The addition amount of the powder raw material is 0-99 wt.% of the fluidity imparting material and powder raw material. The powder raw material is a raw material containing at least one of alumina source material, silicon oxide source material and magnesium oxide source material. The addition amount of the pore-former is 1-100 wt.% of the total weight of fluidity imparting material and powder raw material. The additive is added in an amount of 0-5 wt.% of the total weight of fluidity imparting material and the powder raw material. USE - Low-expansion porous cordierite for ceramic preparation and refractory materials, e.g. refractory brick, sagger, automobile exhaust treatment material, electronic packaging material, shed board for sintering electronic material, and high-temperature heat radiation material. ADVANTAGE - The low-expansion porous cordierite has high porosity, low thermal expansion coefficient, low density, compressibility and surface-charged adherability of characteristics fluidity imparting material, and is easy to be produced in large scale. The method does not use water, binding agent, dispersant, and other chemical substances, and provides energy-saving and environmentally-friendly, simple and fast method.
