NOVELTY - Method for preparing a graphene-based composite phosphorus-based flame retardant, involves (i) performing surface modification treatment to graphene to obtain a modified graphene, (ii) preparing gel precursor, (iii) mixing modified graphene and sodium polymetaphosphate to obtain a two-mixture, (iv) adding the two-mixture to the gel precursor under vacuum conditions, and mixing to obtain a composite, and (v) vacuum-drying the composite, crushing, and sieving to obtain the graphene-based composite phosphorus-based flame retardant. USE - The method is used for preparing graphene-based composite phosphorus-based flame retardant in flame retardant for imparting flame retardancy to flammable polymer. ADVANTAGE - The graphene-based composite phosphorus-based flame retardant has excellent water absorbing and dehydrating effect, prevents polymer from further pyrolysis, prevents heat decomposition in the interior of the gas phase to participate in the combustion process to isolate the air, and heat, which promotes thermal decomposition rate of the polymer is greatly reduced, and gradually stops to achieve the flame-retardant effect in the process of polymer combustion which will generate high activity of free radical, and will release a large amount of heat.
