NOVELTY - A hydrogen storage material comprises rare earth aluminum magnesium-based hydrogen storage alloy and 1-10 %mass graphene catalyst. The rare earth aluminum-magnesium-based hydrogen storage alloy comprises aluminum-magnesium-niobium compound. USE - Hydrogen storage material. ADVANTAGE - The hydrogen storage material is lightweight, and has high capacity. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The aluminum-magnesium-niobium compound is of formula: Re1aMg100-a-b-cAlbNic. Re1 = rare-earth element La, Ce, Pr or Nd; a-c = atom percentage of corresponding element; a = 5-20; b = 5-40;and c = 0-10.
