NOVELTY - The friction layer material comprises 100 pts. wt. ceramic wear-resistant material, 20-90 pts. wt. high temperature-resistant thermoplastic polymer, 1-10 pts. wt. carbon fiber, 1-10 pts. wt. Kevlar (RTM: para-aramid synthetic fiber), 1-10 pts. wt. metal fiber, 1-20 pts. wt. friction modifier, 0.1-1.0 pt. wt. graphene, 0.5-1.0 pt. wt. coupling agent and 20-80 pts. wt. filler. USE - Friction layer material for use in brake pad (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The economical and lightweight friction layer material has high thermal conductivity, heat resistance, wear resistance, stable friction coefficient and long service life. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: brake pad which is prepared using friction layer material; #manufacturing of brake pad, which involves (1) injection molding the support layer material to prepare support layer blank, (2) placing the support layer blank into the bottom of mold, adding friction layer material, heating and pressing molding to prepare friction layer and support layer composite blank and machining to obtain brake pad.
