NOVELTY - A catalyst comprises cobalt (II, III) oxide (Co3O4), graphene, zirconium oxide, graphene-modified (Co3O4), supported on 19-70 mol% zirconium, 20-80 mol% cobalt, 0.5-12 mol% carbon, and zirconium dioxide. USE - Catalyst used for low-temperature catalytic oxidation of formaldehyde. ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has excellent catalytic activity, stability after activated with at high-temperature under nitrogen atmosphere, selectivity of carbon dioxide of more than 99%, and effectively converts formaldehyde at 100 degrees C. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for preparation of catalyst, which involves preparing zirconium dioxide solution by precipitation, precipitating cobalt (II) nitrate (Co(NO3))2 solution containing graphene oxide colloid, filtering, washing, and drying.
