NOVELTY - Preparing graphene modified hydrophobic melamine foam comprises e.g. adding graphene and graphene oxide into solvent, stirring and ultrasonically dispersing to obtain graphene dispersion, where preparation steps are (i) transferring resulting graphene dispersion to three-necked flask, adding sodium hydroxide solution, agitating, (ii) adding mixed powder composed of melamine and paraformaldehyde into solution obtained in step (ii) and stirring, (iii) reacting mixed solution at 90-110 degrees C for 25-50 minutes to obtain condensate, (iv) rapidly cooling condensate to room temperature in cold water bath, adding foaming agent, emulsifier, curing agent and stabilizer, and stirring to obtain foaming liquid, where emulsifier is octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, sodium octadecylbenzene sulfonate or sodium cetyl sulfate; and curing agent is formic acid, propionic acid, oxalic acid or malonate, and (v) foaming obtained foaming liquid in microwave foaming furnace to obtain melamine foam. USE - The method is useful for preparing graphene modified hydrophobic melamine foam. ADVANTAGE - The method has simple process and convenient operation; reduces the water absorption rate; and is suitable for industrial production. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene modified hydrophobic melamine foam comprises adding graphene and graphene oxide into solvent in an amount of one hundredth to one thousandth of the mass of melamine resin, stirring and ultrasonically dispersing to obtain graphene dispersion, where preparation steps are (i) transferring resulting graphene dispersion to three-necked flask, adding sodium hydroxide solution having molar concentration of 10-30% to adjust the pH of solution to 8-10, and agitating, (ii) adding mixed powder composed of melamine and paraformaldehyde in a ratio of 1:2.5-4 into solution obtained in step (ii) and stirring, (iii) reacting mixed solution at 90-110 degrees C for 25-50 minutes to obtain condensate having viscosity of 4000-8000 mP.s, (iv) rapidly cooling resulting condensate to room temperature in cold water bath, adding foaming agent, emulsifier, curing agent and stabilizer, and stirring to obtain foaming liquid, where foaming agent is n-pentane or ammonium hydrogencarbonate; emulsifier is octadecyltrimethylammonium chloride, sodium octadecylbenzene sulfonate or sodium cetyl sulfate; and curing agent is formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, oxalic acid or malonate, and (v) foaming obtained foaming liquid in microwave foaming furnace to obtain hydrophobic melamine foam.
