NOVELTY - Preparing acrylic resin-modified graphene oxide leather tanning agent, comprises: (i) slowly adding condensed sulfuric acid to mixture of graphite powder and sodium nitrate, stirring, adding potassium permanganate, reacting, adding de-ionized water, heating, cooling, adding 30% hydrogen peroxide, reacting by adding de-ionized water, ultrasonically dispersing to obtain aqueous solution of graphite oxide; and (ii) taking the product of step (i), stirring methyl methacrylate and acrylic acid, ultrasonically treating, heating, adding an initiator and water, and reacting to obtain product. USE - The method is useful for preparing acrylic resin-modified graphene oxide leather tanning agent. ADVANTAGE - The method is environmental-friendly, and produces product, which provides leather with good tensile strength, tear strength, long-lasting capacity, and smooth and soft hand feeling effect. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing acrylic resin-modified graphene oxide leather tanning agent, comprises: (i) slowly adding condensed sulfuric acid (50 parts by wt.) to a mixture of graphite powder (5 parts by wt.) and sodium nitrate (5 parts by wt.), controlling the temperature of the reaction system at less than 20 degrees C while stirring, completing the addition with slow stirring, adding potassium permanganate (18 parts by wt.), reacting for 30 minutes at 50 degrees C, and slowly adding de-ionized water (280 parts), heating at 100 degrees C for 4 hours, then cooling to 70 degrees C, adding 30% hydrogen peroxide (20 parts by wt.) to the reaction solution, reacting for 30 minutes by adding de-ionized water, regulating the pH at 6, ultrasonically dispersing for 30 minutes to obtain aqueous solution of graphite oxide, where the amount of graphene oxide is controlled at 0.4%; and (ii) uniformly stirring aqueous solution of graphite oxide (60-80 parts by wt.), adding (in parts by wt.) methyl methacrylate (8-12) and acrylic acid (6-10), adjusting pH of the mixed reaction system to 7 at 40-50 degrees C, ultrasonically treating for 30-50 minutes, heating at 80-95 degrees C while stirring, adding an initiator (0.5-1.5 g) and water (20 g) to the reaction solution in dropwise manner, where the dropping time is 40-60 minutes, and continuously maintaining heat, reacting for 2-3 hours, adjusting the pH of the reaction system to 7, controlling the solid content at 15% to obtain product.
