NOVELTY - Reverse osmosis membrane comprises a support layer comprising a flat ultrafiltration membrane, and a functional layer formed on the support layer comprising stacked overlapping graphene oxide sheets. USE - The membrane is useful in water treatment applications. ADVANTAGE - The membrane improves water yield in water treatment process. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the reverse osmosis membrane involving compounding a dispersion of graphene oxide on a surface of the support layer to form a composite film, and strengthening the film by coordination ions to obtain the product.
