NOVELTY - Composite particles comprise electrode active material and particulate polymer comprising graft polymer, where the graft polymer has a molecular structure comprising a stem portion and a graft portion which is a hydrophilic graft chain bonded to the stem portion, the stem portion contains an aromatic vinyl block region comprising aromatic vinyl monomer unit and conjugated diene region composed of an aliphatic conjugated diene unit having 4C or more atoms, the content ratio of the conjugated diene region is 50-99 %mass based on 100 %mass of stem portion, the content ratio of the graft portion in the graft polymer is 1-40 parts mass with respect to 100 parts mass stem portion, and the angle of repose of the composite particle is 20-40 degrees . USE - The composite particles are useful in electrode for electrochemical device (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite particles improve the peel strength of the electrode, suppress the spring-back of the electrode, and improve the cycle characteristics and high temperature storage characteristics of the electrochemical device. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for the following: (1) a method for producing composite particles for electrochemical device, involving (A) granulating a mixture containing electrode active material and particulate polymer; and (2) an electrode for electrochemical device, comprising current collector and mixture layer provided on the collector, where the mixture layer comprises composite particles.
