▎ 摘 要
NOVELTY - The method involves providing an electrochemical cell with a graphitic electrode and a conductive electrode. The graphitic electrode is made of HOPG, natural graphite, synthetic graphite and partially exfoliated graphite materials, and is held with positive potential. Electrolyte is filled in the electrochemical cell comprising solvent, where the electrolyte contains specific oxygen containing salts and a strong base facilitating exfoliation and oxidation of the graphitic electrode. The graphitic electrode is pre-treated by sonication, ultrasound and chemical processes. USE - Method for producing graphene oxide in an electrochemical cell. ADVANTAGE - The method enables producing large amounts of graphene oxide or partially oxidized graphene without the need of either by using strong acid at the same time without requiring sonication steps. The method enables facilitating the exfoliated and oxidized particles to remain in proximity of the graphitic electrode and close an electrical contact. The electrochemical cell is operated at a temperature which achieves correct level of oxidation and exfoliation. DESCRIPTION OF DRAWING(S) - The drawing shows a schematic view of an optical image of a material on an oxidized silicon substrate of a method of producing graphene oxide in an electrochemical cell.
