NOVELTY - A cathode additive comprises porous carbon material coated with a metal element coated on a surface of a reduced graphene oxide sheet, where the reduced graphene oxide content is 0.1-50 wt.%, the porous carbon content is 40-90 wt.%, and the metal element content is 0.1-10 wt.%. USE - Cathode additive for use in lead-carbon battery (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The cathode additive has high specific surface area and electronic conductivity, high activity, high charging and discharging reversibility and low hydrogen evolution. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a method for preparing cathode additive.
