NOVELTY - A platinum-nickel nanoalloys/three-dimensional graphene-based composite catalyst comprises graphene carrier, polymer nanoparticles template, and platinum-nickel nanoalloys deposited on the graphene surface by electrochemical deposition method to form hollow shell structure. USE - The platinum-nickel nanoalloys/three-dimensional graphene-based composite catalyst is useful for catalytic oxidation of methanol, and as anode catalyst for direct methanol fuel cell (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The catalyst has improved dispersibility, catalytic activity, resistance to carbon monoxide poisoning and stability, and desired specific surface area. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method for preparing platinum-nickel nanoalloys/three-dimensional graphene-based composite catalyst.
