NOVELTY - Substituted alkyne containing molybdenum compounds (I) are new. USE - (I) are useful in graphene based hetero-nanostructure which is useful in device, where the device is nanometer scale functional electronic device, field effect transistor, tunneling transistor, and diode (claimed), and in variety of applications, including in post silicon integrated circuit architectures. ADVANTAGE - (I) provide graphene based hetero-nanostructure with absolute control over the length, width, and symmetry, doping pattern, segmentation of linear or cyclic graphene based hetero-nanostructures. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Substituted alkyne containing molybdenum compounds (I) of formula (IA) and/or (IB) are new. R3 = alkyl, aryl or heteroaryl (all optionally substituted); and R4 = C(CH3)3, C(CH3)2(CF3), C(CH3)(CF3)2, or C(CF3)3 INDEPENDENT CLAIMs are included for: (1) producing high molecular weight polymer, comprising subjecting a ring strained cycloalkynyl monomers to ring-opening alkyne polymerization conditions in the presence of a molybdenum ring-opening alkyne metathesis polymerization (ROAMP) catalyst comprising (I). (2) a graphene based hetero-nanostructure. (3) a device comprising the graphene based hetero-nanostructure.
