NOVELTY - The preparation method of rare earth metal ion-doped titanium dioxide/reduced graphene composite photocatalyst involves (1) dissolving rare earth ion nitrate in anhydrous ethanol, stirring in a water bath to completely dissolve, adding tetrabutyl titanate, increasing the temperature of the water bath under the protection of nitrogen, stirring, and cooling to form composite reaction solution system (A), (2) mixing graphene oxide, anhydrous ethanol and deionized water, and stirring in the water bath until absorption equilibrium forms an adsorption system (B), (3) dripping the composite reaction solution system (A) into the adsorption system (B) after stirring in water bath, and reacting to obtain suspension system of rare-earth-doped titanium dioxide particles/graphene oxide, (4) transferring the obtained suspension system to a PTFE-lined high-pressure reactor, sealing, and heat-treating, and (5) cooling and separating the heat-treated reaction liquid, washing, and drying. USE - Preparation method of rare earth metal ion-doped titanium dioxide/reduced graphene composite photocatalyst used for treating organic substance in artificial seawater system (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The method enables preparation of rare earth metal ion-doped titanium dioxide/reduced graphene composite photocatalyst which promotes the visible light response and enhances photocatalytic activity under visible light. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The preparation method of rare earth metal ion-doped titanium dioxide/reduced graphene composite photocatalyst involves (1) dissolving rare earth ion nitrate in anhydrous ethanol, stirring in a water bath to completely dissolve, adding tetrabutyl titanate, increasing the temperature of the water bath to 50-80 degrees C under the protection of nitrogen, stirring for 1.5-2.5 hours, and cooling to room temperature to form composite reaction solution system (A), (2) mixing graphene oxide, anhydrous ethanol and deionized water, and stirring in the water bath at 0-40 degrees C until absorption equilibrium forms an adsorption system (B), (3) dripping the composite reaction solution system (A) into the adsorption system (B) after stirring in the water bath, and reacting to obtain suspension system of rare-earth-doped titanium dioxide particles/graphene oxide, (4) transferring the obtained suspension system to a PTFE-lined high-pressure reactor, sealing, and heat-treating at 160-180 degrees C, and (5) cooling and separating the heat-treated reaction liquid, washing, and drying. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for processing method of organic substance in artificial seawater system, which involves adding rare earth metal ion-doped titanium dioxide/reduced graphene composite photocatalyst to an artificial seawater system, and irradiating weak visible light source for 3-5 hours after adsorption and equilibrium in the dark.
