NOVELTY - Preparing graphene/titanium dioxide composite photocatalyst comprises adding alkali solution and titanium source into the ethanol solvent, stirring to obtain a precursor; transferring the precursor into hot water kettle, carrying out hydrothermal reaction; washing the hydrothermal reaction product with ethanol, and ultrasonically dispersing in ethanol; washing; drying the obtained product to obtain titanate; dispersing the resulting carbonate and graphite oxide in ethanol; carrying out ultrasonic dispersion; centrifuging the product, and vacuum drying the resulting precipitate. USE - The graphene/titanium oxide composite photocatalyst is useful for photocatalysis of water (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The photocatalyst significantly increases the specific surface area. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing graphene/titanium dioxide composite photocatalyst comprises (i) under stirring condition, adding alkali solution and titanium source into the ethanol solvent, stirring to obtain a precursor; (ii) transferring the precursor into hot water kettle, carrying out hydrothermal reaction at 150-180 degrees C for 12-36 hours; (iii) washing the hydrothermal reaction product with ethanol, and ultrasonically dispersing in ethanol; washing, ultrasonically dispersing 2 times, washing the product with distilled water once; where the washing conditions include centrifuging at speed of 3500 revolutions per minute for 5 minutes; (iv) drying the obtained product to obtain titanate; (v) dispersing the resulting carbonate and graphite oxide in ethanol; placing the mixed solution in an ultrasonic machine and/or cell disrupter, and carrying out ultrasonic dispersion; (vi) centrifuging the product for 5 minutes at 10000 revolutions per minute, vacuum drying the resulting precipitate in a vacuum dryer at low temperature of 20-30 degrees C for 8-10 hours; (vii) placing the resulting sample in a tube furnace, and calcining at 300-800 degrees C under an inert atmosphere.
